With the Wetaskiwin – Leduc Corridor offering an Exciting Summer, its time to Book a Campsite

The summer of 2019 is promising to draw many people into the region, and with the Millet Lion’s Memorial Campground nestled smack dab between the cities of Leduc and Wetaskiwin, the town of Millet is the place to squat and take in the fun.

Perhaps all you want is a nice quiet spot for a family vacation but need to keep entertained. Millet and our campground is located close to so much.

Wetaskiwin will be the place for world class auto racing, with the NASCAR racing season starting May 11thand running every weekend at the Edmonton International Raceway in Wetaskiwin. Plus, the CTV Super Late Model Series race will be held on May 18th so what better way to bond as a family then to add a camping weekend with racing!

Once you have that race bug in you, the Edmonton International Raceway is having the largest NASCAR race in Alberta! On July 27ththe NASCAR LUXXER 300 will to be here, and that will surely be the best car racing your family will ever experience. After the race, put your feet up at our campgrounds, start a fire and enjoy Millet; the Prettiest Little Town in Alberta!

The City of Leduc’s Black Gold Rodeo is always a great event, and with Millet only twenty-five minutes south of the Rodeo and Fair Grounds, we look forward to hosting you and your family for that spectacular long weekend. The Black Gold Rodeo this year is from May 30thto June 2nd, so book your camping site today

In Wetaskiwin we have the Reynolds-Alberta Museum an international award-winning museum that is all about celebrating machines. Experience hands-on activities from climbing into a pink Buick convertible or a gigantic Oil Pull tractor, to cuddling up in the indoor Drive-In or watching restoration shop experts at work. You may even get a peak at the 1:1 scale replica of the AVRO Arrow jet-fighter which was used in the CBC Movie “The Arrow” with Dan Akroyd! Legend has it, its tucked away in one of their hangers and it does get out for some air once in awhile. On June 8th and 9th you can head just fifteen minutes south of your campsite and take in “History Road: the Ultimate Car Show”

Both Leduc and Wetaskiwin have world class indoor swimming for your family, so when its time to freshen up your young ones from a day of camping, you will be so close to either facility.

Remember to bring the family bicycles, Millet is home to 60 acres of beautiful parkland with bicycle and walking trails throughout. Enjoy nature in a wonderful setting, and cross the Pipestone Creek several times over hip bridges. All this is right next to the Millet Lion’s Memorial Campgrounds.
